Machias Wild Blueberry Festival!
August 18, 19, and 20!
Come celebrate the powerful little fruit that put our corner of Downeast Maine on the map. Centre Street Congregational Church, UCC, rolls out the blue carpet each August with crafts, food, entertainment, contests, and all things blueberry. There’s no admission charge.
Tours, Comedy Shows, BBQ, Fish Fry, Live Bands, a Road race, Blueberry Pancake Breakfasts, Crafts, Exhibits, Book sale, heck – check out the website for the full schedule. There is too much to list!
Three days of vendors! We are pleased to announce that the Church Commons Lot (the grassy area next to the church) will have vendors for three full days! Friday from 9-5, Saturday from 9-5, and Sunday from 9-3. There seems to be a lot of excitement amongst our vendors for this three day opportunity, and there are many new vendors submitting applications. The list of participating vendors will be available in early May of 2017.
If the sight and smell of everything blueberry isn’t enough to delight the senses, this year’s festival will feature talented, wandering street performers, otherwise known as Buskers. The Buskers will weave their way through the crowd, sharing their many talents. You might see a musician or a juggler, or a dancer. Whatever form this talent takes, it’s sure to please!
