During November, there will be a round of Lobster Zone Council meetings with the primary focus on the Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative.
These meetings will be an opportunity to hear from a representative of the Collaborative about the strategy used to market Maine lobster and about the results of an independent third party audit of the MLMC’s programs since its inception.
Following the Lobster Zone Council Meetings, the Collaborative will present this same information to the Lobster Advisory Council and finally to the Marine Resources Committee in 2018.
Where the Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative sunsets in 2018, we urge people to attend a meeting to hear the presentation, to ask questions, and to provide constructive feedback that will help inform the Lobster Advisory Council’s discussions.
Based on the outcome of the audit and with consideration of any recommendations by the Lobster Advisory Council, the Marine Resources Committee may report out a bill to the Legislature to reauthorize the Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative.
