These hands-on trainings, provided at no cost to commercial fishermen, are sponsored by Fishing Partnership Support Services, and conducted by Coast Guard Accepted Marine Safety Instructors.
The one day program includes: on-board firefighting, flooding & pump operations, flares & EPIRBS, survival suits, life raft equipment, man overboard and helicopter hoist procedures and first aid. If you have a survival suit, bring it. Lunch is provided! The training is supported by the U.S. Coast Guard and the Massachusetts Fishermen’s Partnership (MFP).

This free course meets the Drill Conductor certification requirements of 46 CFR 28.270. To qualify, you must have attended our Safety and Survival Training course within the past year. Upon completion of the Drill Conductor course, you will be prepared and certified to conduct emergency drills: Man Overboard, Fire, Damage Control, and Abandon Ship. (Commercial fishing vessels operating beyond the three nautical miles are required to conduct these drills on a monthly basis). The one-day training involves an Emergency Procedures classroom session in the morning, and an On-board Drills session (aboard a local vessel) in the afternoon.
