Scoping Session- Restorative Aquaculture LLC in Harpswell @ Harpswell Town Hall
Aug 9 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Restorative Aquaculture LLC has scheduled a scoping session (i.e. informational meeting) for a proposed standard lease: a 9.89 acre site located in Middle Bay, east of Scrag Island. This proposal is for suspoended gear for Shellfish.

If the scoping session listed above is cancelled, an alternate scoping session will be held on August 11, 2021, at the same time and location. Notice of a cancellation will be posted on the Department’s website at https://www.maine.gov/dmr/index.html.

The applicant will present their draft plans to members of the public, who will then have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions of the applicant and provide feedback about the draft proposal. The purpose of the meeting is for the applicant to share their proposed plans with the public. It does not determine the final outcome of the proposals. Provided the applicant submits final applications, a public hearing(s) on those proposals would eventually be held. At the public hearing(s), DMR would take evidence and testimony about the proposals as they relate to the applicable lease decision criteria. A final decision would be based on the relevant evidence and testimony provided at the public hearing(s).

You can participate in the scoping session or contact the applicant.

A copy of the draft lease application, which includes the applicant’s contact information is available on DMR’s website at: http://www.maine.gov/dmr/aquaculture/leases/draftstandardapps.html.
